Tons of sound in a compact package, this amp is top quality and high tech, but recreates the mellow sounds of the older style tube amps - sounds like a Fender costing four times as much.Great for a practice amp or performing in smaller venues.Great buy.

Behringer GTX30 Guitar Amplifier 30-Watt Guitar Amplifier Review

Behringer GTX30 Guitar Amplifier 30-Watt Guitar Amplifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Well, some of you already know I was looking for a little practice amp. I bought a Behringer GM108 which lasted 2-3 weeks. Sent it back to Amazon for another one and it was a dud, too! So, that got shipped back today.

Yesterday, I ordered the Behringer GTX30 and it came today. Gotta say, it's not bad. Not the best amp in the world, but it serves my purpose.

Tone is very good, clean is CLEAN. It emulates a tube amp by pressing a button. Sounds OK, but not quite the real thing. It's a 30 watt-er and it's loud enough. I'm not too crazy about the overdrive or the cheapo knobs. The OD could be a lot better, but that's not why I got it.

The effects (reverb, flanger, chorus & delay) are not bad at all. Still not why I got it. Though it does work well with my Digitech RP-55 mulit-effects pedal. My RP-55 has the exact same effects and many more and it does a better job. Haven't tried it with my DOD pedals, yet (since I got the RP-55, I don't use them much). Oh, yeah, sounds good with my Behringer HellBabe wah-wah pedal, too.

So, why did I get this amp? Well, like many amps out there it has 2 features I REALLY need: headphones and line-in. Sure, I could've gone Fender or Marshall, but I just wanted to try something else. I've been dialing it in for the last couple of hours and it really does sound good.

Oh, and when I put on the headphones, NO thud or static. When I take them off and play hard, NO thud or static. That was the problem I had with the GM108.

So, am I happy? Yeah, I am!

I still have some MAJOR testing out to do with it over the weekend. But, for now, the amp stays here and is not being shipped back to Amazon.

So far, I'd recommend it anyone.

Bugera V5 5-Watt Class-A Valve Amplifier Combo with Reverb And Power Attenuator Review

Bugera V5 5-Watt Class-A Valve Amplifier Combo with Reverb And Power Attenuator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Although I heard this is a copy of a vox ac30 I think it is more like a mini colossal.3 wattage setting options with the built in attenuator.8 inch speaker actually sounds fine in a bedroom.I don't think upgrading the 8" speaker will have much of an impact on the sound. However I'm interested in hearing this through a 10" speaker.

The reverb is nice. Its a big difference between the other low cost/low watt tube amp options.

The amp has a lot of headroom so there is no reason to go with a 12au7 as a pre-amp tube. However to get heavy distortion will require a stomp box to push it.

Maybe a set of jj tubes in replacement of the rebadged sovtek tubes that bugera uses. But that too isn't high on the to-do list.

The amp itself looks and feels well made and the handle feels plush.

I can see this becoming a favorite in the after market mod kit scene given the reverb option.

Wish I could say that this is a locally made amp but they are made in China.10 years ago I don't see this price would have been possible.

Product Description:

Dressed in classic two-tone vinyl, running on one power and one preamp valve and featuring bone-simple controls, the BUGERA V5 looks like a carefully constructed nostalgia trip. In fact, in many ways, it is! But plug into this beautiful little amp and you'll not only find a sound that's caked in real vintage raunch, but also modern features that take this sound to places it couldn't go-until now.

Big Sound, Small Package

Rock music brings to mind amplifiers as big as skyscrapers, dishing out irreversible ear damage at ruthless volumes. But a studio secret among guitar greats is that little low-watt valve combos like the V5 can be maxed out for red-hot overdriven tone without blowing fuses or incurring any property damage. The V5 is a living, breathing homage to those half-pint screamers of the past, but with two very important improvements. See, this amp may be small, but 5 watts in Valvesville is still loud as hell when it's sitting in your bedroom. That's why the V5 features a switchable power attenuator that allows you to run 5, 1 or 0.1 Watts. An attenuator reduces the amplitude of a signal without changing its sound. That means you can still drive the valves into banshee-league fury, but without waking up the neighbors.Finding a headphone out jack on an all-valve guitar amp is incredibly rare because the integration requires loading the output transformer and filtering the signal for a loudspeaker simulation. (Translation: it's a pain in the ass!) But in true BUGERA fashion, we've gone the extra mile to allow you some late night practicing. Just plug in a pair of headphones to the 1/4" phones jack on the back panel, and you're ready to keep the V5's all-valve sound all to yourself. Then again, if it's more volume you need, the V5 has a 1/4" Speaker Out jack that allows you to connect an additional speaker with a minimum impedance of 4 Ohms. This dangerous dandy also features the same studio-caliber digital reverb found in its bigger BUGERA brothers. The spring reverb found in the V5's post-war predecessors sounds lovely, but is delicate and expensive to repair. The V5's modern update gives you an equally mesmerizing vintage reverb sound without the wallet-draining vintage reliability.

Little Wonder

With the V5 in your home or studio, your tonal woes are over. It bears the true sound of an antique 5W valve amp, it's built to survive abuse, and its price tag is tons lighter than the ones you' ll find tied to its elders. Adopt a V5 today and get ready to pack 60 years of sonic inspiration into your recording or practice sessions.

Way cool vintage look and feel

Crate Blackheart BH 110 Killer Cab Guitar Amp Cabinet, 1 x 10 Review

Crate Blackheart BH 110 Killer Cab Guitar Amp Cabinet, 1 x 10
Average Reviews:

This 10" cab is better matched to the Little Giant 5watt head, and gives the same boomey lows with much punchier mids and highs. I went with 2 of these to make a mini fullstack that will rattle my doors and windows. I highly recommend this cab- especially over the 12" version. Eminence drivers are better than ever and are easy to change/swap if you want different tailored sounds.

Crate Blackheart BH112 Little Giant 1X12 Guitar Cabinet Review

Crate Blackheart BH112 Little Giant 1X12 Guitar Cabinet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Although I love this cabinet for its price tag and its excellent construction, the speaker is a bit harsh sounding. I understand that part of this has to do with the cab being closed, but I wish it sounded a bit sweeter, and I know it could with the right speaker. That said, for the price, you can't complain, since you can afford a speaker swap with all the money you save on the cab. One more thing, this cabinet is pretty much the exact same size as the Epiphone Valve Junior Extension Cabinet, 1x12, the Epiphone might be a couple millimeters larger. That's great because both are inexpensive (but well made) 16-ohm cabs loaded with Eminence speakers, but the Epiphone is an open cabinet. They can form a mini stack or sit side by side and play nice with each other. As for how they sound, I think the Epiphone sounds better with the stock speaker, but find that the construction of the Blackheart is superior, so it would make a great choice for speaker upgrades.

this is an all around fantastic Amp

It has an insane amount of features for the price and sounds pretty damn good to boot.

As far as modeling amps go peavey knocked it out of the park on this one. A certain other popular modeling amp (which will remain nameless) doesn't even compare.

This little amp rocks! I have the bh5h stack and i love it so much i think i will upgrade to the full stack when i get the dough. It is really warm, but i suggest if you want sweet overdrive tones, you should get an overdrive pedal. (unless you can crank it.)
Overall, this is a really great amp that is worth as much as amps 3x as much.

Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR20LDX 20W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp, Black Review

Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR20LDX 20W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp, Black
Average Reviews:

I purchased this amp at Guitar Center locally for the same price listed here.. $159.I can say that I do not regret my choice over a Marshall or Peavey.Don't let the lack of knobs and buttons fool you.If you play with the gain and overdrive, you can pull out anything from John Mellencamp to Queen to Metallica. The on board FX are spot on and sound beautiful and professional. It is very easy to produce a nice, full range acoustic sound as well. I was a little hesitant with my choice at first, but after playing with the amp for a few days, I wouldn't give it up for anything.Volume is what is expected for a practice amp.For general playing, I never put it over 2 or 3.I did put it up to 5 once, and I do not see why you could not keep up with drums at that level.I don't see this amp gigging, maybe a very small club or lounge, but it does what it was intended to do.. and it does it well.

I really wish this model was foot switch compatible, but I knew it wasn't when I purchased it.I suppose most people use pedals anyway. But the quality of sound and effects from this amp is awesome.

Wow.This is a sweet amp.I have played a variety of guitars & amps over the years, and -- for the money -- this amp cannot be beat.Tones are rich and "breathe" -- just like a tube amp, but with the convenience of a modeling amp.Compare to a Line 6 and prepare to be blown away by the sounds and on-board effects.Vox has a winner here, and the best tribute to this little amp is that it makes me want to be a better player.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Vox Valvetronix VT15 Guitar Combo Amplifier - 1x8 inch, 15 watts

Product Description:
Vox's Valvetronix series is a new generation of VOX amp fusing high-quality modeling technology with acclaimed VOX Valve Reactor tube technology. Utilize twenty-two amp models ranging from the latest high-gain monsters to hard-to-find boutique and vintage amps, along with a full array of effects, making the VT15 a combo that will have you covered for a wide variety of styles and techniques. Sixty-six preset programs are also provided, including twenty-two song programs that simulate the guitar sounds of famous guitarists, so even newbies can start enjoying serious guitar sound right away. A perfect practice amp, the VT15 puts 15 watts through a single eight-inch speaker, and provides a headphone output for a little privacy.

High-quality amplifier modeling with acclaimed VOX Valve Reactor tube technology. Click to enlarge.
Twenty-two sought-after tube amp sounds. Click to enlarge.
Add the VFS5 footswitch for more on-the-fly control of programs, reverb, and effects.
OX Valve Reactor Circuit
The VOX Valve Reactor circuit is the key factor that separates the Valvetronix series from other modeling amps. The 100% analog original power amp circuit actually has the same power amp circuit as a full-tube amp, using a 12AX7 miniature triode to reproduce a distinctive tube amp sound unattainable by digital technology. In other words, it replicates aspects that have an important influence on the sound of a tube amp, such as the power amp's class A/AB operation and the interaction of the power stage with the speaker, thus reproducing not only the response of the original amp's power amp circuitry, but also the power amp's distortion as well as the nuances and subjective sound pressure of a full-tube amp.
Since there's a power level control that allows you to decrease just the volume without affecting the tonal character, you can adjust the volume while enjoying the same sense of drive as when the master volume is at maximum. This means that you can obtain the exact same sound even when you're unable to play at maximum volume, such as when you're at home.
22 Amp Models
Another indispensible aspect of the Valvetronix series is the modeling technology that is the source of its diverse amp sounds. The sounds of twenty-two tube amps sought-after by the guitarists are built in, including vintage amps that are now hard to find, as well costly boutique amps. The coverage includes not only vintage types, but also the latest high-gain types, accommodating a wide variety of playing techniques and styles.
12 High-Quality Effects
Effects are an important part of creating your guitar sound. The VT series contains twelve effects with quality rivaling that of dedicated stand-alone processors, ranging from familiar standards to fresh new types. Of these, the reverb effect is always available, and three of the other eleven types are composite effects that allow up to three effects to be used simultaneously. Noise reduction can also be used at the same time. Each effect has multiple parameters that you can adjust to create the precise sound you want. There's also a tap switch that makes it easy to set the delay time or modulation speed. Independent reverb is provided, giving you an even broader range of sound-creating possibilities.
66 Preset Programs
For each amp model, the VT series provides a "song preset" that simulates the guitar sound of a famous guitarist, giving you a total of twenty-two such presets. These song presets make it easy to instantly obtain the guitar sound of well-known songs everyone has heard. Each amp model also has a "basic preset" that represents the most typical settings, as well as an "effected preset" that takes full advantage of the effects, totaling forty-four presets. Together with the song presets, you have a total of sixty-six preset programs. Of course, you can also save your own favorite edited programs as one of eight user programs.
Headphone Output
There's a headphone output that can be connected to headphones or to your mixer or multi-track recorder. Since the tonal characteristics of the cabinet are applied to this output, the sound will not be impaired even if you make a direct-line recording or listen through headphones, ensuring that you continue to get that great spatial depth and character.
Optional VFS5 Footswitch
By using the optional VFS5 foot switch you can switch programs, turn reverb or other effects on/off, or make speed/tap settings using your foot. This is a great advantage when you're creating sounds or performing live.

Line 6 Micro Spider 6-Watt Battery-Powered Guitar Amplifier Review

Line 6 Micro Spider 6-Watt Battery-Powered Guitar Amplifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this amp to add some sonic flavor to my series of battery operated amplifiers. I have 2 Roland products a Micro Cube and a Cube RX, 2 Vox amps a D5 and D10 repsectively. Ok so let us get started. The first thing I have to say is that off all of my "amps" this one is the one that has the most features. Pros:
The Line 6 has 5 amplifier modes or channels! You can configure all of the amp settings and then save them for recall later (just set it the way you like and and press the button for that sound until the button blinks). The sounds are pretty good too, useful. I liked the input that allows you to add an mp3 player or other audio source (1/8 stereo mini)The tuner is also nice, not too accurate, but will get you in the ball park. Headphone output / Recording direct out. Cons: The knobs feel pretty flimsy, they are however pretty protected for the most part. Should you move one up or down you will see the rest follow suit. For something so promising it is ashamed that they chose to make a price point over quality. If you are a person that takes care of things, you will have no problem with this product.

I have always been a dedicated tube amp user, although I am stunned by the new MG series by Marshall.
What is so amazing,is the price!!!! It's clean tone,I believe, is just as good as an all valve, whilst the overdrive is pure metal bliss. The delay is so efficient that one really doesn't require an additional pedal.
If anyone has been an all valve devotee, should at least check this range out, i think you will be pleasantly surprised

Product Description:
Marshall's MG30FX features their exclusive, groundbreaking FDD circuitry plus 30 Watts of power for killer tones. The MG30FX includes a 10-inch speaker, four switchable channels, and a 3-band EQ that lets you shape your tone. Four digital effects are included, along with cabinet emulation for the line or headphone out. A fine marriage of digital convenience with modern Marshall tone.

Groundbreaking FDD circuitry plus 30 Watts of power. Click to enlarge.
A single control for digital effects.
Line in for playing along with CD/MP3 players; headphone output for private practicing.
Add the optional Stompware footswitch for further control.
Analog Tube Emulation
Marshall's innovative FDD (Frequency Dependent Damping) circuitry gives the MG4 Series the unbelievable depth of sound and unique feel of their legendary, all-tube amps. It does this by emulating the way an all-tube power amp interacts with the speaker(s) it is driving. The result? An amp that gives you the best of both worlds, not only producing the tone you're looking for, but offering an intuitive and totally programmable way of customizing, storing and accessing your favourite Marshall tones and features.
Preset and Manual Modes
The MG30FX features two modes: Preset and Manual. Preset mode stores the position of all the controls except the master volume, allowing you to store the settings for each channel for instant recall.
Selecting a channel automatically recalls the settings stored within the channel. The physical position of the front panel controls automatically update.
In Manual mode, the amp behaves like any other amp--adjust the controls to your liking on the fly; channel-switching won't recall stored positions (although you can of course save one if you like it).
Four Channels
On the MG30FX guitar amp combo, the available channels are Clean, Crunch, OD1 and OD2--four different foundations upon which to build your sound.
Switching seamlessly between channels is easy with the push button controls, or you can add an optional footswitch.
Reverb and Digital effects
The MG30FX allows two simultaneous effects--Reverb and one of these four digital effects: Chorus, Phaser, Flanger or Delay.
All four effects are controlled by a single knob. Turning clockwise increases the speed on the modulation effects and the level of the delay effect.
The delay can be manually set using the front panel Tap button, which allows you to match the delay time to the time between two presses.
Headphone/Line Output
The combination line out/headphone out features speaker cabinet emulation, giving you full Marshall sound when recording or practicing through headphones (when a jack is inserted into the socket the unit's speaker is muted).
Line Input
The 3.5mm MP3 / Line In socket allows the connection of an external audio source, such as an MP3 or CD player. Plug it in and play along.
Stompware Footswitch (Optional)
Upgrade your rig with the Stompware footswitch, which provides seamless transitioning between channels, foot control of the tap tempo delay, plus a built-in tuner with LCD display.
