Tons of sound in a compact package, this amp is top quality and high tech, but recreates the mellow sounds of the older style tube amps - sounds like a Fender costing four times as much.Great for a practice amp or performing in smaller venues.Great buy.

Behringer GTX30 Guitar Amplifier 30-Watt Guitar Amplifier Review

Behringer GTX30 Guitar Amplifier 30-Watt Guitar Amplifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Well, some of you already know I was looking for a little practice amp. I bought a Behringer GM108 which lasted 2-3 weeks. Sent it back to Amazon for another one and it was a dud, too! So, that got shipped back today.

Yesterday, I ordered the Behringer GTX30 and it came today. Gotta say, it's not bad. Not the best amp in the world, but it serves my purpose.

Tone is very good, clean is CLEAN. It emulates a tube amp by pressing a button. Sounds OK, but not quite the real thing. It's a 30 watt-er and it's loud enough. I'm not too crazy about the overdrive or the cheapo knobs. The OD could be a lot better, but that's not why I got it.

The effects (reverb, flanger, chorus & delay) are not bad at all. Still not why I got it. Though it does work well with my Digitech RP-55 mulit-effects pedal. My RP-55 has the exact same effects and many more and it does a better job. Haven't tried it with my DOD pedals, yet (since I got the RP-55, I don't use them much). Oh, yeah, sounds good with my Behringer HellBabe wah-wah pedal, too.

So, why did I get this amp? Well, like many amps out there it has 2 features I REALLY need: headphones and line-in. Sure, I could've gone Fender or Marshall, but I just wanted to try something else. I've been dialing it in for the last couple of hours and it really does sound good.

Oh, and when I put on the headphones, NO thud or static. When I take them off and play hard, NO thud or static. That was the problem I had with the GM108.

So, am I happy? Yeah, I am!

I still have some MAJOR testing out to do with it over the weekend. But, for now, the amp stays here and is not being shipped back to Amazon.

So far, I'd recommend it anyone.

ELECTRIC GUITAR PACK ACCSSTARCASTER BY FENDER STRAT Review

ELECTRIC GUITAR PACK ACCSSTARCASTER BY FENDER STRAT
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
There is no sense in not being honest, for how much you end up paying, you will feel very satisfied with this product.I've been abusing this gear for about 6 months and have only run into two problems. The amp to guitar cable just stopped working. Not too big of a deal, I ended up just buying a Monster brand cable 12ft for about $18 including shipping from Amazon and have been outstandingly pleased with the quality. The only other issue has been the cheap quality of the tremelo bar as it broke off inside of my bridge. This is a much harder fix, but this is a fairly minor issue once you start picking up more techinques on how to play (visit [...] it has like 300,000 free tabs and free video lessons on how to play... the DVD provided was okay but is eclipsed by this site).
Other than that, this is a nice little guitar. The fretboard feels great (the intonation on the upper frets seem a bit off but I hear this is pretty normal anyway) and the strings given hold up well for a good sound. The tuning heads hold nicely as well (I had a week were I played bout 5-6 hours a day pretty hard and I only lost bout a quarter note on each string). Not too many options with the amp, but playing around with it some and the pick-up selector can give amazing sounds all things considering. If you are worried that this little amp can't get loud, fear not.For at home use with OverDrive on, you can bug quite a few people in your home more than likely at level 2 volume (I play a bit less than 1 typically) and it goes up to level 10 volume!
Overall, this is well worth the money.Perhaps this gear is not the best suited for gigging, but that isn't what you should be buying a starter kit for anyway now is it? For anyone that wants to learn guitar with some cool sounds (acoustic can get old) this is probably the best $[...] (after shipping) or so dollars you can spend!

This 10" cab is better matched to the Little Giant 5watt head, and gives the same boomey lows with much punchier mids and highs. I went with 2 of these to make a mini fullstack that will rattle my doors and windows. I highly recommend this cab- especially over the 12" version. Eminence drivers are better than ever and are easy to change/swap if you want different tailored sounds.

Dean EVOXM Short Scale Bass, Classic White Review

Dean EVOXM Short Scale Bass, Classic White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When this bass showed up at my door, I was hopeful. The box looked a bit flimsy to get it here safely from China, but I was willing to give Dean the benefit of the doubt. That was my first mistake.A small round piece fell out of the foam paper wrapping.I couldn't figure out what it was until I noticed that I could see the gear on the back of one of the tuners. This was the back cover to the tuning key. Then when I turned the bass over to inspect it, a screw fell out of the neck pickup and wouldn't thread back in.

Finally, the neck was coming apart where the headstock was glued to the rest of the neck.If I would have run my hand up the neck quickly I might have gotten a splinter.

This bass is a piece of trash and Dean should seriously consider either changing their motto: "The world's finest guitars" or FIRING their Chinese manufacturers.I have a Hamer Slammer short scale bass (Made in Indonesia) and it is a gem.Try one on for size.I got it here at Amazon, as well. This Dean bass is a turkey.

this is an all around fantastic Amp

It has an insane amount of features for the price and sounds pretty damn good to boot.

As far as modeling amps go peavey knocked it out of the park on this one. A certain other popular modeling amp (which will remain nameless) doesn't even compare.

Average Reviews:

I purchased this amp at Guitar Center locally for the same price listed here.. $159.I can say that I do not regret my choice over a Marshall or Peavey.Don't let the lack of knobs and buttons fool you.If you play with the gain and overdrive, you can pull out anything from John Mellencamp to Queen to Metallica. The on board FX are spot on and sound beautiful and professional. It is very easy to produce a nice, full range acoustic sound as well. I was a little hesitant with my choice at first, but after playing with the amp for a few days, I wouldn't give it up for anything.Volume is what is expected for a practice amp.For general playing, I never put it over 2 or 3.I did put it up to 5 once, and I do not see why you could not keep up with drums at that level.I don't see this amp gigging, maybe a very small club or lounge, but it does what it was intended to do.. and it does it well.

I really wish this model was foot switch compatible, but I knew it wasn't when I purchased it.I suppose most people use pedals anyway. But the quality of sound and effects from this amp is awesome.

Line 6 Spider IV 30 30-watt 1x12 Modeling Guitar Amplifier Review

Line 6 Spider IV 30 30-watt 1x12 Modeling Guitar Amplifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This thing is in limbo. It has too many functions to be a basic amp, and not enough to be a really broad-ranged amp like it's bigger siblings. It annoys me that it gives you effects, and then doesn't give you a whole lot of ability to fine tune them to your own tastes. The tremolo is especially annoying because you have no control over the depth, (which goes from all-on, to all-off) just the tempo.Another thing, and this is something that has become standard in the Spider series, is that the knobs are digital. While this is not a problem per se, it could be better implemented. When you change the amp model, it overrides whatever you had the knobs set to.This is a problem, because you have no idea what the positions of the knobs are for the presets, and you have to turn them a little to get control of the knobs function, which instantly throws it to the knobs current physical position (indicated by a dimple on the face of the knob, which, by the way is kind of hard to see in low light).Confused?Yeah, some kind of led's around the knobs to show their current digital position would be nice.
On the plus side, they should never crackle when you turn them, even 20 years from now!
The farther you roll the amp selector knob to the right, the higher the gain goes, so if you are trying not to disturb the neighbors, make sure you back off the master before you select Crunch, Metal, or Insane.

As far as sound quality goes, I don't have any complaints. It does sound pretty nice, it can be adjusted to give you a really clean sound, but, as is typical of solid state, it lacks the warm fuzzy tone of tubes. Not a knock really, just par for the course.
The instruction manual does not explain how to use the built in tuner function, and the FAQ's on the Line6 website seem to be describing the 15w model procedure, not this 30w (which is very different in the way it works), but you'll figure it out pretty quickly when you start turning the tuner knobs.Bottom Line: If I had a piece of advice to give to those of you on the fence, I would either get the 15w model, (because I really don't see enough extra features in the 30w model to justify twice the price), or step up to the 75w model which has 300+ presets (and it's probably loud enough to gig with a drum set, which this probably is not).I honestly don't see a hundred dollars difference here, if they had included the 300+ presets on this model, I would give it 5 stars, but as it is, it is a nice little 4-star amp.

Fender Mustang II Electric Guitar Amplifier Review

Fender Mustang II Electric Guitar Amplifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I can't say enough about how impressed I am with this amplifier.Fender has really packed a load of usable features into an affordable, excellent sounding package.I've had the amp for two weeks now and am still exploring all of its capabilities, but it's one of the most exciting guitar products to come my way in years.

First of all, the different amp presets sound absolutely killer and the included FUSE software allows for easy editing and you can store an unlimited number of presets on your computer. There are many amp models and effects to choose from and the FUSE interface is so simple even an old school knob twirler like myself can handle it.Using the computer, you can replace the factory presets on the amp with your own, making it a truly custom amplifier.

Secondly, I was really impressed with the sound I can get from the amplifier.I have always preferred tube to solid state and this is the first modeling amp I've really been impressed with.It just sounds fantastic, with real differences between the various amp models you can choose from. It's been a real treat to be able to explore the different models, such as the Bassman, the Deluxe, Princeton, Twin, and other Fender and non-Fender amplifiers. The 12" speaker sounds great and the forty watts provides plenty of power, at least for my purposes.

Lastly, Fender has outdone themselves with the options they include. The amp features an input for your audio/MP3 player-great for those of us who like to practice along with music, a headphone output that doubles as a speaker emulator for recording, and a USB connection for connecting to the FUSE software and recording software.Fender has also included free recording software (Ableton) and their Amplitube software (as seen on the most recent iPad commercial). And you get all of this for two hundred bones.Well done, Fender!

If you're interested in this amplifier, do yourself a favor and check out the demo video on Fender's website. It's a really nice overview of the features and they also have sound samples of some of the presets you can listen to.The amp sounds just as good in person.

(The Mustang I is a 20 watt amp with an 8" speaker, but has all of the same goodies as the II if you don't need the power and want to save a hundred bucks.)

Fender Starcaster? Electric Guitar/Amp Package - FlameTop Finish Review

Fender Starcaster? Electric Guitar/Amp Package - FlameTop Finish
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have this guitar pack and I have to say that the number of negative comments is amazing.I am not sure what people expect for $200.00.No! This is not a $1200.00 dollar American made strat, nor is the $500.00 Mexican made strat. It's a low cost made in China strat.

Regardless of where it was made, I found the workmanship to be very acceptable. The guitar is beautiful and the rosewood fretboard is very nice. The whole guitar has a solid feel.My only real complaint is that the center pickup has an unusually low level output. But there is no way I would return this guitar just because of a single pickup. At worst case I'd just have Fender send a replacement. And Yes! As other reviews have noted, the amp hums a little (especially at higher volumes). But, this has more to with the single coil pickups used in the guitar. If you want humbucker pickups, you're going to pay more. Also the amp is just a small 10W practice amp.It works fine for lower volume practicing.I have fallen in love with mine and play it quietly in the evenings to relax from the world.

I have a family and very little extra money.I am greatful that Fender has provided these low cost kits.It gives me the opportunity to own and relax with a Fender, something that would be questionable with a better (read more expensive) guitar. And, if the kids develop an interest, I won't cry too much if they add a few scratches to it.

Folks need to keep things in perspective. This is a low cost entry level guitar.Understanding those limitations, I highly recommend this kit to anyone just starting out.

Line 6 Micro Spider 6-Watt Battery-Powered Guitar Amplifier Review

I purchased this amp to add some sonic flavor to my series of battery operated amplifiers. I have 2 Roland products a Micro Cube and a Cube RX, 2 Vox amps a D5 and D10 repsectively. Ok so let us get started. The first thing I have to say is that off all of my "amps" this one is the one that has the most features. Pros:
The Line 6 has 5 amplifier modes or channels! You can configure all of the amp settings and then save them for recall later (just set it the way you like and and press the button for that sound until the button blinks). The sounds are pretty good too, useful. I liked the input that allows you to add an mp3 player or other audio source (1/8 stereo mini)The tuner is also nice, not too accurate, but will get you in the ball park. Headphone output / Recording direct out. Cons: The knobs feel pretty flimsy, they are however pretty protected for the most part. Should you move one up or down you will see the rest follow suit. For something so promising it is ashamed that they chose to make a price point over quality. If you are a person that takes care of things, you will have no problem with this product.

I have always been a dedicated tube amp user, although I am stunned by the new MG series by Marshall.
What is so amazing,is the price!!!! It's clean tone,I believe, is just as good as an all valve, whilst the overdrive is pure metal bliss. The delay is so efficient that one really doesn't require an additional pedal.
If anyone has been an all valve devotee, should at least check this range out, i think you will be pleasantly surprised

Product Description:
Marshall's MG30FX features their exclusive, groundbreaking FDD circuitry plus 30 Watts of power for killer tones. The MG30FX includes a 10-inch speaker, four switchable channels, and a 3-band EQ that lets you shape your tone. Four digital effects are included, along with cabinet emulation for the line or headphone out. A fine marriage of digital convenience with modern Marshall tone.

Groundbreaking FDD circuitry plus 30 Watts of power. Click to enlarge.
A single control for digital effects.
Line in for playing along with CD/MP3 players; headphone output for private practicing.
Add the optional Stompware footswitch for further control.
Analog Tube Emulation
Marshall's innovative FDD (Frequency Dependent Damping) circuitry gives the MG4 Series the unbelievable depth of sound and unique feel of their legendary, all-tube amps. It does this by emulating the way an all-tube power amp interacts with the speaker(s) it is driving. The result? An amp that gives you the best of both worlds, not only producing the tone you're looking for, but offering an intuitive and totally programmable way of customizing, storing and accessing your favourite Marshall tones and features.
Preset and Manual Modes
The MG30FX features two modes: Preset and Manual. Preset mode stores the position of all the controls except the master volume, allowing you to store the settings for each channel for instant recall.
Selecting a channel automatically recalls the settings stored within the channel. The physical position of the front panel controls automatically update.
In Manual mode, the amp behaves like any other amp--adjust the controls to your liking on the fly; channel-switching won't recall stored positions (although you can of course save one if you like it).
Four Channels
On the MG30FX guitar amp combo, the available channels are Clean, Crunch, OD1 and OD2--four different foundations upon which to build your sound.
Switching seamlessly between channels is easy with the push button controls, or you can add an optional footswitch.
Reverb and Digital effects
The MG30FX allows two simultaneous effects--Reverb and one of these four digital effects: Chorus, Phaser, Flanger or Delay.
All four effects are controlled by a single knob. Turning clockwise increases the speed on the modulation effects and the level of the delay effect.
The delay can be manually set using the front panel Tap button, which allows you to match the delay time to the time between two presses.
Headphone/Line Output
The combination line out/headphone out features speaker cabinet emulation, giving you full Marshall sound when recording or practicing through headphones (when a jack is inserted into the socket the unit's speaker is muted).
Line Input
The 3.5mm MP3 / Line In socket allows the connection of an external audio source, such as an MP3 or CD player. Plug it in and play along.
Stompware Footswitch (Optional)

Fender Starcaster Strat Pack - 3-Tone Sunburst Review

Its just amazingly perfect for playing at home!!

It includes everything. And I mean everything that you might need. Its not even mentioned in the product description that a headset is also included! Which is totally what I needed as I play it for hours and hours and I should not be disturbing others. Amp is cool, its loud enough for home use. It has Bass and Treble effects as well which is very cool. A guitar stand is also included which makes it easy to keep the guitar when not in use.

About the guitar itself, it needed a bit of tuning when I took it out of the box, but that was again very easy with the chromatic tuner provided. After that tuning its just been sounding inch perfect!

Everyone around me is in love with this guitar. Trust me it won't let you down. A fender is always a good choice! Specially if it comes with all the accessories for a really great price!

About amazon, very fast service, cheers!!
I paid for standard shipping only. And I got in something like 60 hours!

Silvertone Revolver Electric Guitar Pack, Black - SS11PK-BK Review

Silvertone Revolver Electric Guitar Pack, Black - SS11PK-BK

This was the first guitar I got and started me in the right direction. This is a well made guitar and plays great. If your a beginner I recommend this one to get. The guitar and amp is what any beginner needs to get started. Also you get picks, a cool instructional video, and a tuner which are all decent items. Even though I didn't get a new guitar yet and am still using this one but I did get a better amp at $150. Really, this is worth the money and is a really great guitar package.
