nice guitar for the money. great sound. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it is made in china.

Product Description:
For such an easy-to-afford guitar, the Epiphone PR-150 is a standout -- a perfect instrument to get started on. It is a dreadnought and features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard. The PR-150 sounds great and this Epiphone's sunburst finish gives it the look of a far more expensive guitar.

Epiphone G-310 SG Collection Electric Guitar, Red Review

Epiphone G-310 SG Collection Electric Guitar, Red
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got the epiphone sg over the g-400 (too expensive) as a practice and recording guitar for our band. It plays and sounds far better than any Yamaha Pacifica with the dual humbuckers giving it a meaty sound.

However, it pales in conparison to the real Gibsons due to the dodgy electronics, the bolt on neck, the dodgy color and the hard playing at anything below the 15th fret. I also own a squier p-bass special which, for around the same price, offers far better value for money (even with the dodgy electronics-the bane of cheap guitarists)

Product Description:
Based on the 1967 SG, the Epiphone G-310 has all the SG style and features you want, but with bolt-neck affordability. It also has a full pickguard and sports two hot open-coil Humbucking pickups with individual volume and tone controls.

SG style and features with bolt-neck affordability.

Twin open-coil humbuckers and the industry-standard Tune-O-Matic bridge.
Rosewood fretboard with dot inlays.
Angled Headstock

The pickup is first placed in the specialized wax vacuuming system before the cover is put in place to ensure that the wax fully penetrates to the very center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, it is again given a second vacuum wax bath until the unit is completely saturated with wax.

Toggle Switches
All Epiphones feature our all-metal, USA designed switches for reliable contact and longer life.
Tunomatic Bridge

Potentiometers

Epiphone SG Special Electric Guitar, Cherry Review

Epiphone SG Special Electric Guitar, Cherry
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This guitar even arrives in a nice box, double protected from Musician's Friend with a larger outer box loaded with packing to keep the prize awaiting inside safe. The inside, another Epiphone box by Gibson.Opening it reveals a masterpiece to the eyes, seemless paint job in cherry, easy on the eyes (no, not the girl who packed it at the plant, the guitar!).I wanted an SG for a long time, but they were so costly I grazed past it to other models for an intermediate like me getting back in the ranks. This thing looks and feels like the Gibson original, it's light, easy to hold, sits perfectly on your knee, tunes awesome, sounds great, and when I put it through my distortion pedal, I thought I was hearing Metallica... of course, then I woke up.The neck plays fast and the pickup switch gives you the ability to have the full two pickups on for rhythm, the back one on only for lead with a twangier taste, and the front one for a heavier-bassier tone. The full two pickups boring down with some strong bar chords are my favorite. My friend who is an officianado grabbed it and made it sound like a $4,000.00 guitar, then handed it back to me with a sneer and said that he could make anything sound good, but the axe I got for $169 was "okay."In his eyes, that really meant he had to say that so I didn't get a swelled head.Together with a SG model hardshell case from Amazon (off copy) with black velvet style interior, it looks delectable.Buy this one first, then move on to something more expensive, but you don't really have to.Save the money and buy yourself a ticket to the Bahamas, but don't forget to take the SG with you... you may need an Epiphone portable amp though for the beach so people don't even dare kick sand in your face. They may even buy you a Pina Colada, but don't be a dummy and spill it on this masterpiece.

Epiphone Lefty LP Special II Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Heritage Cherryburst Review

Epiphone Lefty LP Special II Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Heritage Cherryburst
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For the money, the Les Paul Special II is quite possibly the most tempting Les Paul ever made for the Left handed guitarist. However, most experienced players are probably wondering... what am I getting into, here, buying one of these budget versions of a classic? Well, for starters, you are getting phenomenal tone, worthy of the Les Paul name. Yes, I have had mine for almost four years now and have played along with other musicians using far more expensive top of the line guitars... and I never fail to get complements on the tones I get out of this instrument. From smooth clean, to heavy distortion, the two humbucking pickups give you tremendous flexibility and perhaps the best Les Paul sound you will ever find for a guitar is this price range.

Those are the pros. Here are the cons: Inexpensive instruments = inexpensive parts. Out of the box, my guitar sounded great and the comfortable low action set up was more then adequate to keep me content. However, with time, this guitar will reveal and keep you reminded that it is an inexpensive guitar. The inside electronics will require maintenance at some point, and possibly an eventual replacement, as they become loose and produce bad static noise with time (I have found I am not the only one with this problem). The machine heads, knobs, and cheap plastic jackplate you also want to eventually replace or upgrade. However, these are relatively inexpensive fixes (plus the warranty covers a lot). If you are willing to accept that this guitar will require some fix ups down the road, with this price I'd say you are still getting quite an amazing instrument. Oh, and did I mention the guitar simply looks awesome?

Despite its cons, this guitar will give you the Les sound without the expected Les price tag. It's not perfect, but you won't be braking the bank here either. For the beginner, or budget minded like myself, there is very much to like about the Les Paul Special II. And for the left-handed player, even more!!!

I've been playing Bass Guitar for 40th years. I've Played and number of difference bass guitar to many to list. But I never got as many compliments on the sound of a bass as I did with this Epiphone EB-O. I was told that they could feel the vibrations across the dance floor and on the other side on the room were there table was Appox 50ft away from the stage. Epiphone LP Special II Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, White
Average Reviews:

Purchased this beauty along with Vox Valvetronix VT15 Guitar Combo Amplifier - 1x8 inch, 15 watts and oh does it sound nice. I changed the chords as soon as i got it to some super slinky string set for that extra bendy deliciousness. All of the hardware is solid and easily serviceable. The action was low, just about perfect. The neck is straight and without defect.
This is an overall great guitar to start with, but keep in mind that this is an Epiphone, not a Gibson with a label that says Epiphone so it isn't made with parts of the highest quality, so it isn't fair to compare it with something it will never be.

Epiphone SG Special Electric Guitar, Ebony Review

Epiphone SG Special Electric Guitar, Ebony
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This guitar, when looked at from a technological point of view on produced sound, is ideal for a 'custom' metal sound. People say that the maple assists to the production of a ligther, thinner sound. The rosewood has no actual change to the sound. The humbuckers are more preferred to a coil, because it is responsible for a thicker sound. This combination is ideal if you belong to the metal, preferably death metal, genre.

Epiphone LP Special II Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony Review

Epiphone LP Special II Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I picked up one of these babies about 6 months ago to use as my "travel" guitar, and it has yet to let me down.Granted, the day I got it, I changed out the pickups with a DiMarzio Double Whammy in the bridge and a Virtual PAF in the neck, so I can't tell you much about the sound from the factory electronics. However, the guitar plays wonderfully. The only irritant was that, in order to get perfect intonation in Eb tuning (one half-step below standard tuning on all six strings), I had to reverse one of the saddles.

Otherwise, no complaints whatsoever -- it came from the factory with the truss perfectly set, and it only took minor tweaks to the action and a slight shim for the neck (I'm obsessive when it comes to fast action on my guitars), and I was shredding away in no time. This is an excellent guitar for a beginner, or, if you're a more advanced player in search of some vintage looks on a budget, this is right up your alley.Get a new set of pickups -- EMGs, Seymour Duncans, or DiMarzios will work great -- and you've got looks AND tone.Just don't expect that solid mahogany-body sustain you'd get from a real LP -- this one's plywood.Agathis.Tonewood.Whatever Epiphone's buzzword of the week happens to be.

Bottom line: for $150, you can't go wrong with this guitar.Out of all the guitars I own, I keep coming back to this one.Of course, unlike your average Jackson or B.C. Rich, the Les Paul body design doesn't have any pointy things to dig into one's crotch... That might have a bit to do with it as well. Are you still reading this? Just buy it already!

When I 1st got this guitar I was really nervous. I heard mixed reviews about it, some saying it was awesome and some saying it sucked. I was pleasantly surprised when i plugged it in 2 my amp(it's a crappy amp and the Les Paul sounded way better than my Strat!). It's easy 2 move your fingers, sounds great, looks great and makes it so ur cables never fall out. my one complaint is there's only 1 tone and 1 volume, but it still has that Les Paul sound! It sounds great dirty and clean and is great for rockin out!!
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rosewood fretboard with dot inlays.
Double-Waxed Pickups
Epiphone utilizes a double vacuum waxing process that ensures optimum performance. The pickup is first placed in the specialized wax vacuuming system before the cover is put in place to ensure that the wax fully penetrates to the very center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, it is again given a second vacuum wax bath until the unit is completely saturated with wax.
Output Jack
To increase reliability and ensure consistent performance, Epiphone's proprietary output jacks feature an improved contact shape and heavy-duty spring steel.
Toggle Switches
All Epiphones feature our all-metal, USA designed switches for reliable contact and longer life.
Tunomatic Bridge
Fully adjustable, the tunomatic remains a classic after over 50 years. Unlike guitars fitted with tremolos, there are no tuning or re-stringing difficulties. Plus, tone and sustain are improved because all string vibrations are transferred directly to the guitar.
Potentiometers
Epiphone is passionate about performance. That's why their instruments use one-inch diameter potentiometers for better "throw," longer life and reliable service.
Quick-Connectors
For unequalled reliability as well as ease of service, Epiphone wiring harnesses feature quick-connectors.
