It shipped, and came posthaste; albeit I was concerned to find the box had absolutely no padding in it, or even a fragile sticker, but the guitar was in perfect shape still, and that doesn't concern this review.
It is a very good guitar; I'd recommend it to anyone wanting something well made and with good sound at a low price. I know little about how a classical guitar is supposed to sound; but whatever the standard may be, I'd think this would measure quite well. It sounds beautiful to me. And comparing it to my friends Yamaha C40, it has more projection and I think a better tone, and looks far nicer.
The action is very good, Just right; not to low as to buzz, but definitely not to high as to make playing hard. It play's very well.
And it's beautiful. The picture Amazon has on here is rather unappealing, maybe just because it's not detailed, but the guitar looks great. The tuning mechanism is plated brass on the sides, giving it a golden, elegant look, and the keys themselves are brown, and well shaped; not like the C40, with white cubes and plain tin or whatever they make it out of. The color of the guitar, and it's fine polish make it look quiet beautiful indeed.
And, for a bonus, they didn't polish to excess so as to hide the grain of the wood, like people always do with cheap guitars; instead you can see what they have made it with, and it is quality looking wood.
In all, this guitar is definitely worth whatever you might pay for it, (side-note, I think Amazons marking it down to $140 something is actually real, and not some trick to make you think you've found an amazing deal; this guitar is surly worth more than what they have it for) and comes highly recommended.

(More customer reviews)For the money, the Les Paul Special II is quite possibly the most tempting Les Paul ever made for the Left handed guitarist. However, most experienced players are probably wondering... what am I getting into, here, buying one of these budget versions of a classic? Well, for starters, you are getting phenomenal tone, worthy of the Les Paul name. Yes, I have had mine for almost four years now and have played along with other musicians using far more expensive top of the line guitars... and I never fail to get complements on the tones I get out of this instrument. From smooth clean, to heavy distortion, the two humbucking pickups give you tremendous flexibility and perhaps the best Les Paul sound you will ever find for a guitar is this price range.

Those are the pros. Here are the cons: Inexpensive instruments = inexpensive parts. Out of the box, my guitar sounded great and the comfortable low action set up was more then adequate to keep me content. However, with time, this guitar will reveal and keep you reminded that it is an inexpensive guitar. The inside electronics will require maintenance at some point, and possibly an eventual replacement, as they become loose and produce bad static noise with time (I have found I am not the only one with this problem). The machine heads, knobs, and cheap plastic jackplate you also want to eventually replace or upgrade. However, these are relatively inexpensive fixes (plus the warranty covers a lot). If you are willing to accept that this guitar will require some fix ups down the road, with this price I'd say you are still getting quite an amazing instrument. Oh, and did I mention the guitar simply looks awesome?

Despite its cons, this guitar will give you the Les sound without the expected Les price tag. It's not perfect, but you won't be braking the bank here either. For the beginner, or budget minded like myself, there is very much to like about the Les Paul Special II. And for the left-handed player, even more!!!

Double-Waxed Pickups
Epiphone utilizes a double vacuum waxing process that ensures optimum performance. The pickup is first placed in the specialized wax vacuuming system before the cover is put in place to ensure that the wax fully penetrates to the very center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, it is again given a second vacuum wax bath until the unit is completely saturated with wax.

Tunomatic Bridge

(More customer reviews)im a fourteen year old and i had nver played guitar before and i bought this package. the guitar is really nice and same with the amp. the video helps a lot. i learned a lot of things and they seem hard at first but after playing a few months i can do a lot of the riffs in the video. ive been using the guitar and amp for about five months now and theyve been working great since i bought them.all the things that come in the package are very hepful and are great when ur just learning. ive gotten a lot better and now im in a band and have a gig in a few months. the guitar is great for beginners and the strings r easy to get used to and easy on the fingers so calasis slowly forms.im very happy i got this guitar package without it i wud still be just starting
