(More customer reviews)Tremendous reverb, lots of options and controls, actually will work as an echo unit. The Cathedral is not a simple, "set a couple of controls and go" deal, the more time you spend learning about how actual reverberatio works: pre-delay, how tone is affected in the reverberation field, etc. -- the better off you'll be, and the better you'll sound.
Has the ability to store and access pre-sets, which is truly useful (more than one would be nice, but then it would be a much more complex pedal) but probably the coolest thing for me is the "infinite" feature. I'm in a three-piece band, and when I start a song, I can set a nice lush reverb, play a chord or get some note(s) feeding back, then hold the infinite button down, and play over the "wash". It's quite an awesome sound; the wash just continues on and on and the un-reverberated guitar plays over it. Sweet. Goes back to normal reverb operation when you take your foot off the button.
I'd buy it again, but I need some time to work on it and "find" the pre-sets for different songs.Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Pedal

DigiTech DL-8 HardWire Delay/Looper Extreme-Performance Pedal Review

(More customer reviews)Recently upgraded to a tube amp that unfortunately has no effects.Since pedals are so expensive I decided to go with the DL 8 to start with.Not only is there a number of delay functions, there is a modulated delay that gives a nice chorus type of effect.There's also a slapback delay that gives a reverb type of effect and lastly there's a 20 second looper.Don't get me wrong, this isn't going to completely replace a chorus, reverb or looper but it's a great starter pedal that lets you create a variety of sounds until you can fill out your pedals.The looper is very basic.You can't save loops and once you start a loop you can't stop it and then start it again so this may not be the answer if you want to be a one man band.You can loop up to 20 seconds and then overdub over it which is a lot of fun.

The other main reason I chose the DL8 is that other reviewers stated there was no loss of tone using the pedal.I finally upgraded to a tube amp and dont want my pedals robbing the tone.I would agree that the signal stays pretty solid using this pedal and I didn't notice any loss of tone during use.One downer is thing eats batteries really quick.The first 9v lasted only a 2-3 hours of time.I'm going to invest in the power supply or some sort of powered pedal board.The pedal itself is heavy as a brick and seems built solid.I think it will last a long time but time will tell.Overall, a solid buy and I'm very happy

Electro-Harmonix Holy Stain Multi-Effects Pedal Review

(More customer reviews)I've had this for about a year. Since then I've bought separate pedals to replace each of it's functionalities. With this pedal you can only do Tremolo, Reverb, or Pitch Shift seperately, you can't stack them like a modern multi-effects (which is what EHX bills this as). There's no way to completely bypass the distorion+tone circuit and use say, the tremolo or reverb without having the tone shaped by the distortion. This pedal would almost be useful if it had a good distortion circuit. It IS an ANALOG distortion circuit, but without a gain control (yes, really, double check this before you buy it, since you have to use the distortion circuit to use the reverb/tremolo/pitch shift functionality, there is NO GAIN KNOB). You are stuck with the awful death metal "Dirt"and crunchy sounding "Drive". There is a mix knob, but the wet signal you're mixing into say, the reverb, has already been contaminated by the drive circuit's tone knob. The tone knob has a "clean" setting, but it's almost impossible to tune out.

That said, it has two really fantastic reverb settings, Hall and Room, which are fully adjustable. This is a pretty versatile reverb pedal, and if I'm not mistaken, the cheapest reverb EHX sells (as of this writing), if you can look past the distortion circuit's shortcomings. EHX makes great reverb pedals.

If you're just looking for a multi effects pedal, look elsewhere, you can buy this same functionality by buying economy pedals that do these functions separately for about the same price. This pedal does not get a lot of use from me.

DigiTech RV-7 HardWire Stereo Reverb Extreme-Performance Pedal Review

(More customer reviews)I'm new to playing electric guitar, but I'm a big fan of surf music. Naturally, after I got a few lessons under my belt, I wanted to try my own hand at playing it. Step one - get some reverb! (Actually, step one is "learn how to play", but I am still working on that.)

I listened to a lot of online demos and eventually settled on a certain pedal which shall remain nameless. I was very disappointed and sent it back within a few days. I then did some more research and came across this unit (thanks, surfguitar101.com). The Digitech Reverb unit is great, but this Hardwire version takes it up a few notches. I fell in love right away! Not only does it do as much twangy spring reverb as you'd ever want (and then some), it has a wide variety of reverb styles that all sound fantastic.

The construction quality is also top-notch. A very solid (heavy!) pedal which exudes robustness and durability.

I highly recommend this pedal to anyone who wants a great all-around reverb pedal that can handle anything you throw at it.
