(More customer reviews)I have two young children so it was imparative that I find a case to protect my newest baby. I needed one that would protect it from probable spills,and possible standing on/jumping off. This case is all that I asked for and more: It looks great and it has two attachable straps so I can wear it over my shoulder or as a backback. i can also carry it from its ultra comfy leather handle. Unlike other cases, namely the $79 road runner that I initially brought home, the lock on this one works. Its fits my baby like a glove, its beautiful crushed velvet nestling and hugging its every curve. On the downside the velvet binding around the sides on the top seem to be coming unglued. However, for this price I find the to be worth the re-glue job. I really love this case

Dean Tradition Acoustic Guitar with Hardshell Case Review

(More customer reviews)I have owned my Dean Tradition acoustic guitar for about 10 years now. I've received numerous comments about how nice it is and how good it sounds for the price point at which I purchased it. As of this posting, Amazon's price is cheaper than even a well-known online "friend" of many musicians. And this comes with a hardshell case!! I paid at least this much 10 years ago and mine didn't have a case.

The guitar is well put-together and, as noted, as a nice tone. Really it depends on how you play it. If you finger pick, it has a soft, subtle sound that's maybe a bit muted. If you use a pick, you'll find that the sound is much brighter. The action is probably just about right for a beginner or for someone who's just a casual player. I personally found it a bit high, but it didn't hinder me. The fret board might be considered wide by someone with small hands, but for "average" folks, it too is just right. I used Elixir Light Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings and found them to be well-suited for use on this guitar. It made playing much more comfortable. The guitar tunes easily and stays in tune, as well.

If I were a "serious" guitar player or someone with a lot of skill, I'd probably be playing a Taylor. However, if you're looking for a beginner guitar or you are a casual player like me, you'll find the Dean Tradition is one of the best guitars available at this price.

(More customer reviews)I helped my daughter buy this guitar for her fiance and I've had a chance to play it quite a bit.I also own several other dreadnaught-style guitars, both mid-range and high-end.This instrument is well crafted and nicely finished -- it doesn't look cheap at all.The one I played came nicely set up from the factory and was quite playable right out of the box and it could be fine-tuned to play even better.The tone was comparable to other under $300 dreadnaught guitars with good balance between the strings and excellent bass string volume -- great for bluegrass.However, where this guitar really shined, and where it set itself apart from other guitars, was its sustain.Most inexpensive guitars lack sustain and therefore don't sound full and airy, but this guitar has amazing sustain for its price and was very enjoyable to play, even for someone who regularly plays high-end guitars.The overall quality, easy of play and great sound make this a wonderful guitar for someone on a budget or beginning the guitar.

(More customer reviews)First of all, my new case is SOLID.Even open it doesn't skew or twist.The top doesn't compress at all and the lip makes a smooth seal all around.

There are lots of little details you wouldn't think of, like extra ridges and feet to take the first hits.I live by the sea so materials that are impervious to moisture are essential.The trigger latches are of simple design, easy and fast to open.

The neck is wide to hold shaped foam that cradles your fretboard.This also provides more storage--a spare pack of strings lies flat.It gives a nice balance to the big dreadnought body, both in weight and appearance.Did I mention the comfy, oversized handle?

This is a beautiful case with a gently arched top.The interior is a classy dark jade velour which vacuums well and won't show stains.

So I'm a fan.The SKB18 costs only a few coins more than an average box, and truly has some superior features.Look no further.

(More customer reviews)This is a very nice guitar package for beginners. The guitar itself is solid and holds the tune well. The overall package also represents a fantastic value. Everything one needs is there, including a tuner, a stand, picks and even spare strings. The instructional DVD is quite nice as well. I have no problem following the courses so far. The lessons only cover the basic chords, but still enough to get one started.

The price here fluctuates, but tends not to be very competitive. Some buyers have even received used guitars posing as new. Check out overstock.
