(More customer reviews)Ok, how did I spend $200 on an electric acoustic, and get such an awesome deal?!! I've always been happy with Washburn, but this is ridiculous. I feel like I still owe them money! I compared this to a friend's $650Ibanez and the action and tone is exactly the same if not a bit better! WOW! The action isn't as comfortable as a Cort I tried at the same price, but the electronics are better and it rings out with tone-to-the-bone much better than the Cort. What's amazing is, I spent just about $40.00 less on a Fender Starcaster which was not electric and was of hideous quality of ridiculous proportions. Acoustically this guitar is a dream, and event though the action isn't "perfect", my hands don't hurt and I can kill every note. The real fun begins when I connect it to any of my amps, add some effects and am in total heaven. Don't pass up this deal. This is quality and fun, through-and-through!

(More customer reviews)I couldn't seem to find out how to tighten the "string", which I later used to plug into the wall.Sounding board is a little muffled, but does have halogen bulbs.In sum, not a good fit for a child's guitar, but does serve well as a work light.

(More customer reviews)This was an absolutely gorgeous guitar with a great sound, look, and feel.The only thing I wish could have been different about it was that it was a full hollow-body.That would have given it a a much richer sound that you could enjoy unplugged.The fit and finish was perfect and the knob were sturdy.I do wished they were marked some kind of way.It took a little experimenting to figure out exactly what each knob controlled.

(More customer reviews)I bought the OG10CE as a package from Austin Bazaar. As advertised it came with a stand, strings, and a gig bag. However they also included a strap, pick and a pitch pipe. The guitar is beautiful, the picture on Amazon does not do it justice. Take a look at the yellow sunburst finish here [...] to see what the pattern looks like -- mine looks like that except in a natural wood color.

I've played bass for 20 years and my wife just started playing electric guitar earlier this year. Seeing and hearing her learn made me want to give it a try too. We wanted the versatility of an acoustic electric and a smaller body that would be comfortable for both of us -- I've been playing a Steinberger bass lately so a dreadnought just felt too big for me. The built-in tuner is a nice feature, but most acoustic electrics seem to have them unless you go bottom of the line. Unplugged the guitar sounds great -- certainly not as full as a dreadnought, but I'll take that trade-off that comes with the comfort of the smaller, thinner body. Plugged in it sounds great too. The tone (3 band) and presence controls are really nice.

PROS:
Nice sound both plugged and unplugged
Very pretty wood finish -- we like just looking at it on the stand :)
Nice electronics

CONS:
haven't found any yet.

THE PACKAGE DEAL:
Pros: great price [...], free shipping, nice stand, bonus strap, pick and pitch pipe
Cons: the gig bag had an unbearable plastic smell. After washing it on "hand wash" it didn't smell any better. It literally stunk up the first floor of my house. It is also very thin and not very protective -- we bought a hard shell case and humidifier yesterday. However, the rest of the stuff you get in this package, free shipping, and the price make this an excellent deal. Maybe you can use the gig bag for a Rock Band controller. The only other con is that they only provided 3 replacement strings (GBE) not a full set, but they didn't claim they were sending a full set either. Of course the guitar comes strung with a full set -- de-tuned for shipping. But again, given the whole package it is quite a deal.

(More customer reviews)I am currently happy with this item, but there are some things you must first know about it:

1. The 9V battery for the pickup is only accessible through the small sound hole. You must loosen and spread the strings to get to it. The battery had fallen off during shipping and was rattling around in the body when I got it, but no damage was done.

2. The pickup seems to be just a microphone attached to the bridge area inside the body. When I play and I get too close to my amp or too loud, I get loud feedback. If I shout at the bridge, I can hear my voice a bit. Sometimes when shifting the body in my hands or sliding my fingers up the factory strings, I can hear it on the amp. This, however, is only at high volumes. Playing at a reasonable volume, however, it sounds fine. Just don't expect to play a loud gig with this.

3. The strings that came with it were terrible, and they came factory installed in a really slipshod fashion. Essentially, they had tied a knot at the end of the string, fed it through the bridge hole, and wound it around the peg. When I tried to tune the high string, it kept pulling through the hole. I went and bought a set of Martin crystal strings and they look, feel and play much better. That also eliminated the sound I heard on the pickup when sliding my fingers up the strings. I also strung them up by using the over, under, over, under method common to classical guitar stringing. I have also read a suggestion that using a different, larger knot will also solve the problem. I did not try that.

Since I have gone through these three items, I have been playing it for two evenings straight and have no other problems not common to all ukuleles. Yes, you will need to tune it every 5 minutes for the first few hours of play, the strings will settle in after you've tuned it a couple dozen times. This is normal.

I was looking for a travel size guitar to kick around with and this little guitar was just what I was looking for.
I'm in no way an expert but the sound is just incredible and the guitar itself is stunning to look at. I have shopped for many 3/4 size guitars and this one is definitely the one you want to buy.
The neck is tapered near the top and is very similar to my ovation just smaller. Kids, students and anyone with small hands would do well with this instrument.
The action was perfect right out of the box and just in case, it does have an adjustable truss rod. My guitar teacher has always said this is a key feature for any acoustic guitar. (make sure you let a professional adjust it if you need it down the road)
I cant imagine anyone being disappointed with this guitar and if you read a bit about the history of Oscar Schmidt I think you will be impressed.
Treat yourself- buy this guitar!
