(More customer reviews)One of my favorite purchases.Found this girl on the wall at a pawn shop in Tomball Texas. I bought it because i was tired of taking some of my more expensive guitars on the road in the back of my van with all the other electronic equipment tubling around.I liked this K2TRD because for an expensive guitar it has great sound and a boat load of resonance. My next trick was to pull the string off and replace them with D Adarrio 10's so i could play this guitar like an electric and be able to bend strings........works great and everyone who plays it loves it...hrt

(More customer reviews)I love this guitar. Easy to play. Great Sustain and can play loud or soft. Higher frets are difficult as the strings get some distance from the fretboard. But good for fretboard finger strength excercises. It has a very deep and resonant voice for a guitar in this price range. I have played Martins and Guild Dreadnoughts that sounded better. But not THAT much better! A good take anywhere bang around guitar. I would not part with it.

Please keep in mind that there is no upper peg for guitar straps.

Yamaha FG700S Acoustic Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)I played a Johnson dreadnought in highschool and was told that my fingers would stop hurting eventually. They never did do to the really high action (distance from fretboard to string). After 2yrs I finally gave up guitar. Recently I was having a 1/4 life crisis (im 25) and wanted to learn guitar. I broke out the old johnson from the closet and played for 2 weeks and again the finger problem. I went to Guitar Center and talked to a couple of the guys and started playing as many guitars as i could. I found that every single one was easier on my fingers than the johnson. I tried out the yamaha and a few others in this range. The yamaha just felt so much better. The action was perfect for a newbie but after asking another customer to test it for me (guy was freaking awesome on a guitar) I realized this one was amazing on really advanced stuff and you could strum the heck out of it and it still sounds amazing. Please if you are looking at playing guitar. PLEASE start with something like this instead of the $99-189 range... This is a 350 guitar hiding behind a 199 price tag. I know most ppl just want a guitar now but if you get a cheaper one you will quit playing because you can only take so much pain.

Quality instrument for really cheap!

Cons:
Been playing for 3 weeks and I have yet to find one
No wolf notes, nor anything else. Solid Solid instrument

Yamaha Gigmaker Standard Acoustic Guitar Package Review

(More customer reviews)I got this guitar to replace my Mitchell guitar based on reviews.
The price was good.
Also, it is the Yamaha brand name.
The sound, I was told by my teacher, was very good and he said it was a good buy.
The tuner is OK....better to buy a Korg tuner from Amazon.
Haven't tried the DVD yet.

I have only two complaints:
1) The bag, as pointed out by another review, is very flimsy. It has no straps, no padding. It just has a carry handle. You would want to buy another gig bag

2) The worksmanship is lacking at certain points....e.g. where the neck extends on to the body of the guitar, you see glue that was squeezed out from under. I am a stickler for aesthetics. Some people are not bothered with such stuff.

OVERALL A VERY GOOD GUITAR

PS - You might want to check out the GigMaker Deluxe...similar guitar but has a solid spruce top and is only $10-$20 extra. I did not know about it otherwise would have bought that.
However, as I came to know later, solid wood tops sound good but need to be kept in controlled humidity whereas the laminate tops don't care about humidity. If you want to control humidity, you can buy a little humidifier (no electricity needed) that drops into the sound hole of the guitar.
