I would like to start off by saying that I am new to guitar. I started out on a Fender 7, The older model. It was a loaner. I read all the great reviews on other web pages about the DG-8s. First, yes the front panelis wood. The guitar sounds tinny to me , with some bad echo;s more so then the Dg7,the gig bag is nothing to write home about. Its very light , a bit heavier then a bed sheet. The tuner that comes with it is ok, but there are so many other tuners that are better and not that high in price. The string winder cost about $1.50 if you should buy it on its own.

Some of the reviews that I read , that influenced me to buy this guitar was very high and to me not justified. Somewrote how they been playing for years and this is their go to guitar. Well, I must say that at best its an OK beginner guitar nothing more. I hope the guitar will sound better as my skill level improves. However, if I could return it now I would! My suggestion would be tospend the extra money and upgrade to a better guitar right from the start. It will only keep its value.
